Curtin Radio Helping the Community
“Donate to the Grandparents Project”
Throughout October Curtin Radio, in conjunction with the Soroptimist Club of South Perth and WANSLEA, are running the ‘Grandparents Project’.
This community project is being coordinated by Soroptimists of South Perth which is donating $3500 to purchase stationery and put together school stationery packs for grandcarers in Western Australia who care for their grandchildren.
WANSLEA has been supporting grandcarers in Western Australia for more than 15 years, with more than 750 grandfamilies currently registered for Wanslea support groups operating in Perth and the South-West.
Grandparents often become carers for their grandchildren when their own biological children are facing struggles with mental health issues, drug and alcohol addiction and imprisonment.
The ‘Grandcarers Project’ is calling out for generous donations of the following NEW stationery products:
If you’re able to donate any of these items you can find drop off points at the following locations:
Curtin Radio Building 004 (9am to 4pm only)
John Curtin Gallery
Collections will close on Thursday 26 October.
Curtin AHEAD has kindly donated 300 pencil cases to the project.
We would love Curtin Radio Listeners to get behind this worthy cause and help out!
