It was a full house at Friends Restaurant in East Perth on Wednesday 2nd November for Curtin FM's second Radiothon Gala Dinner and Auction.
After a short introduction by Peter Newman and an even shorter speech by station manager Quinn Glasson it was time for auctioneer Wayne Phipps to conduct the auction of approximately 40 lots. Wayne was a big hit last year and again this time he brought a light touch to some serious business.
With the auction concluded and after a short break it was time for live entertainment from Thomas Crane, recently on national television with his Freddie Mercury impersonations, and beautiful soprano Fiona Maria. They brought the house down and later in his act Thomas duetted with both Jenny Seaton and Dean A. Martin.
With the entertainment over it was time for old friendships to be renewed and new ones made as the crowd was able to mingle and socialise.
Mention must be made of the superb four course meal prepared especially for the night by our hosts at Friends, Clyde and Lesley Bevan.
And it all would not have been possible without the generous donations of our sponsors of the night who donated many thousands of dollars of goods and services.
