Helena Ball - Helena was born in Germany towards the end of war to Polish and Russian parents, the eldest of seven children.  Lived in a displaced persons camp for several years.  Came to Australia in 1950.  Schooled at Newdegate and later relocated to Wagin.
Left school beginning of Year 7. Got married at 16 and had 2 children. 
She taught herself office skills 
and in 1972 became the first woman secretary in WA for a country trotting club.
In 1974 Helena m
oved to Perth and worked for a finacial institution before in 1985 changing jobs to go into the political arena as secretary to Members of Parliament, which she is still doing today.
Did a crash computer course (Is that learning how to make computers crash? - Webmaster) and now does her own music conversions amongst other things.

Helena joined Curtin FM in February 2005 and was Don Dryden's producer on Sunday afternoons until early 2008 when increased outside commitments forced her to relinquish that role. She is now a standby producer who fills in at short notice
