The breakfast session is probably the most important radio session for all types of radio stations across the globe. Listeners want to know what has been happening whilst they have been asleep, but they also like to be entertained in a bright and breezy manner as they prepare for the day ahead. Curtin FM is proud to have as its breakfast session host Peter Newman. Peter brings to the station a vast experience in Western Australian radio. Starting off in Perth in the mid 1960's as a 6PR "Good Guy" he has since worked in both commercial radio and for the A.B.C.

Calling on this experience, Peter knows what the right ingredients are to present an entertaining and informative breakfast session. From 5:30 to 09:00am he presents a skillful blend of the music that sets Curtin apart from the rest, interspersed with news and information gleaned from interstate and overseas, as well as comment on the major stories from Western Australia. There are scheduled news bulletins from Curtin's own newsroom every half hour from 06:00 as well as live crosses to Main Roads for traffic updates. Peter loves to interact with his listeners and he does this talking to them live to air when he conducts quizzes at approximately 07:20 and 08:20 - plus giving those same listeners the chance to win prizes.
Musical features include "The D.N.A. of rock and roll","Country threesome" and a daily "Classical" piece.

"Your Day By The Stars" can be heard at 07:55 followed by the latest in British football with scores from overnight games (August-May). Fridays between 07:35 and 07:55 sees a comprehensive A.F.L. preview with well known pundits and former players. (March-September)

Listen out too for Peter's occasional conversational guests, who you can be assured, will have something interesting to say.

Tom "The Cyclist" Archdeacon seems to cop more flack than Peter's other producers. As a result it seems that Tom receives more sympathy from Peter's audience, and in response to many enquiries here is a photo of Tom. Judging by the stern look on Tom's face, the photo was probably taken after another roasting from Peter!!!
